RhettonBelisle lifts Belmopan Bandits to sweep season series against No Limit

On Thursday night, March 9th, Belmopan Bandits hosted Belize City No Limit at the UB Gym. Last time both teams played, it was at the Belize Elementary Gym where Belmopan dismantled No Limit and now looking to sweep the season series at home. This was the first game that Bandits’ all-star guard, Edgar Mitchell, did not play in.

The game started with Belize No Limit with a hot start and dominating the opening quarter with their quick guards and excellent rebounding; ending the quarter with a 6 point lead with score settled at 19 – 13.  In the second quarter, Belmopan slowly crept up on No Limit and bringing the score closer and closer. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good enough for them as No Limit pushed themselves away and still commanded a slim lead of 3 points at the half with a score of 31 – 28. Belmopan Bandits dominated the second half with their three point shooting and took the lead in early and late portions of the third and ran away with the lead in the fourth. Eventually winning the game with a score of 70 – 63.

Player of the game goes to Rhetton Belisle, coming off the bench, with a game-high of 18 points along with 3 assists; shooting 46% from the field and 50% from behind the arch. Other contributing players for Belmopan Bandits were Gregory Rudon with 13 points. Farron Louriano with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Richard Smith III with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds. Top players for Belize City No Limit were Marcel Orosco with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Lincey Lopez with 10 rebounds, 9 points, and 5 assists. Kyle Young with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
